Hi, I’m Riya - and for me, design has always been about making sense of the complex. My path into UX wasn’t a straight line but a series of explorations that shaped how I see design today.
When I moved to the U.S. in 2021, I began exploring my long-standing interest in graphic design through a Graphic Design specialization at the California Institute of the Arts. What started as curiosity about visuals quickly turned into a fascination with how people interact with digital products. That interest grew deeper when I pursued a UI/UX specialization and later a Graduate Certificate in UX and Visual Interface Design at the University of Washington, where I learned to connect research, usability, and interface design into cohesive, human-centered solutions.
Today, as I prepare to graduate in December 2025 with a Master’s in User Experience at Arizona State University, I’ve grown into a designer who thrives at the intersection of psychology, research, and design. My projects, from reimagining remote onboarding to simplifying complex learning platforms, reflect a consistent goal: creating experiences that balance usability with delight and clarity with connection.
What excites me most about design is the balance of empathy and problem-solving: asking the right questions, noticing the details that matter, and building solutions that genuinely help people. As I step into the next chapter of my career, I’m eager to bring that same mindset to teams and projects where design can make a real impact.
